This Is What Happened When We
Became Involved with Internet Marketing

It was just 3 years ago that we decided to join the Internet marketing phenomenon.

We’d worked together as therapists for 17 years and we wanted to expand our income and our reach. Pretty quickly we saw that through the Internet we could grow from working one-on-one to one-on-many and we could achieve everything we wanted. 

But there was something missing.

We went to marketing conferences. We bought continuing education programs. All the material was good — really good — and the people we met were (and continue to be) some of the most emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually generous people we’ve every known.

But something was off.

Finally it became clear. There was just one style of marketing. What we saw we came to call “hard sell” marketing — challenging, in-your-face, almost combative.

Now, to be clear, we also saw that huge sums of money were being made that way.

We tried to adapt. But no matter what we did we were never comfortable. And that led to no end of frustration.

It was then that we decided we would have to go our own way — sink or swim. And, happily, we began to swim. And swim and swim.

Our first teacher, Alex Mandossian, coined what we were doing as “soft topic copywriting & marketing.” And that lead to the category “Soft Sell Marketing,” because it's clearer and more complete.

Since then we’ve become known as Soft Sell Marketers and we also know that there are many, many others just like us — just like you — a whole community of marketers and soon-to-be marketers whose products and services won’t sell unless they are made available in a way that is inviting and inclusive – in other words, in a Soft Sell way.
